Terms of Service

By creating an account, uploading content, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Linkdown (the “Service”) is a hosted Markdown document sharing platform. You upload documents (HTML, Markdown, PDF, etc.); we generate shareable URLs; your viewers see the document. We provide a web dashboard and a command-line tool.

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity on your account. Use a strong password and do not share it. Notify us immediately at security@0451software.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be 16 or older to use the Service. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

You retain all rights to the documents you upload. You grant us a limited license to host, store, transmit, and serve your content solely to operate the Service (e.g. serving a document to a viewer who clicks a share link you created). This license terminates when you delete the content or your account.

You are responsible for the content you upload. You agree not to upload content that:

• Is illegal in your jurisdiction or ours.
• Infringes any intellectual-property right.
• Contains malware, phishing, or other harmful code.
• Is intended to harass, defame, or harm another person.
• Contains content that violates another person’s privacy (doxxing, non-consensual intimate imagery, etc.).

We do not proactively monitor user content. We will respond to takedown requests per the procedure in our DMCA / abuse policy.

The Service is offered under multiple plans (Free, Starter, Pro, Team). Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. By upgrading, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not prorate refunds. EU customers may have a 14-day right-of-withdrawal under consumer law; see our privacy team to exercise it.

If a payment fails, we retry per Stripe’s Smart Retries. After the final retry fails, your account enters a 3-day grace period, then is downgraded to the Free plan. We do not delete your data on downgrade.

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access the Service by means other than the interface we provide.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission.
• Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other access controls.
• Use the Service to send spam, phishing, or unsolicited bulk messages.
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice, depending on severity.

The Service (excluding your content) is owned by us and our licensors. This includes the dashboard UI, the CLI binary, the worker code, the documentation, and our trademarks. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service per these Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably practicable. Upon termination, we will delete your account data per our Privacy Policy, except as required to retain (e.g. tax records).

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100. IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

If you are a consumer in the EU/UK, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of your home jurisdiction.

We will post material changes here at least 14 days before they take effect, with a banner on the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
